This declaration describes the current state of accessibility of the Azoa app, which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Implementation is based on the requirements of the German Barrierefreien-Informationstechnik-Verordnung (BITV) and the Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz (BGG).

Goal and target group of the app

The Azoa app is an interactive application for mobile devices that teaches young people important aspects of mental health in a fun way. It is not intended as a therapeutic tool: people with serious mental illnesses requiring treatment should not use the app.

Our accessibility measures

Design and user guidance:

• Clear design: The app uses clear, easy-to-read elements and avoids color combinations that provide for poor contrast.
• Clear marking of interactive elements: All interactive buttons and links have a white border so that they are easily recognizable as clickable.
• Smooth animations: Strongly flashing or intrusive animations are avoided to aid readability and concentration.
• Adjustable control sensitivity: Users can individually adjust the rotation and movement speed to ensure comfortable operation.
• Individual volume control: Volume controls and mute options are available for effects, speech and background music.
• Storage of user customizations: All settings that are made are retained and are applied the next time the app is used.
• Flexible difficulty levels for interactive content: Exercises in the app start with an easy level of difficulty and can then be set to Normal or Difficult.

Text and audio content:

• Clear and simple language: All text content is formulated in an easy-to- understand manner.
• Clear text formatting: The texts feature a simple structure and clear formatting to enhance readability.
• High contrast between text and background: The app avoids poor contrasts so as to ensure good legibility of the content.
• High-quality audio: The app’s audio content is available in good quality to ensure barrier-free acoustic use.
